    Swedish M94 stock options

I bought a Swedishicon M94 that the stock has been sporterized. What are my options? Can I use a M96 or M38 stock and make something work that way? I'm assuming the M94 action should fit into a M96 or M38 stock right? Anyone ever try to unsporterize a M94 using a M96 or M38 stock and make it look kinda close? Any tips would be helpful. Thanks.

I was also considering using a Chileanicon Mauser 1895 Carbine stock. Anyone know if that would work?

I believe (someone correct me if I am wrong) even when the carbines were in service they would sometimes use cut down M96 rifle stocks on the M94 carbines as replacement ones. This is just what I heard, and I think I saw a example of this online (which seemed to be verified by the people commenting on it). Biggest issue you will run into is finding the proper nose cap.

I imagine if you looked long enough as well you could find a sporterized M96 stock which would be around the proper length to begin with so you wouldn't have to chop up a nice full stock.

There's several M94 stocks and a nose cap on ebay right now.

I have a sporterized stock but not the rifle. I played around with it a bit, cleaned it up real nice and thought about using it as a hunting stock for my M96. The M96 fit in it just fine but my memory is a little vague on how close it fit. It seems to me that the barrel stepping is different between the two. The cutouts didn't match. So while an M96 might fit in the carbine stock, the carbine may not fit in the M96 stock without some inletting of the barrel channel.

Cutting the stock down isn't hard if you are careful. I cut down a full length stock for an M38 project I did a few years ago where the original stock just fell apart from dry rot.

I want to fit a M94 into a M96 stock or a M38 or a Chileanicon Mauser carbine. Whatever works the best.
