Recent finds from digging in the Uk

    Hi All

Thought I would share with you some of the recent finds made at sites across the UKicon. Some of them are rather unusual to say the least, not necessarily because of what they are, but because of where they were found! I will limit this post to 'army' related items, as I do do a lot of digging on old airfields as well, and have quite a collection of aircraft parts.

    Hope you enjoy the finds.

Indeed, but can you identify the two items in the last picture?

I am new to the forum and didn't want to come in 'all guns blazing' !!!

But, if you wish to see a video of the items being dug, click on the link below. There are around 30 videos of me and my group recovering items on the channel.

The drums I've seen...but not examined as they're so scarce and expensive around here.

Indeed it is Peter........an adapter to allow an SMLE grenade discharger cup to be attached to a P14. I have put a post in the P14 forum as, whilst I knew what it was, I can find nothing about them on the net at all. If you have any information about them I would be most grateful. The site has yielded around 10 of these items in the past few months, of which I found 3 of them.
