Thinking of buying this No5 what do you make of the filled in holes in the receiver? Im told it was drilled and taped for a scope at some point???

You're right...... It's been drilled and tapped for a scope at some time. Not a wise place to drill and tap from an engineering or strength point of view. What else do you need to know?
