    Newly acquired L1A1.

Just picked this up today. Immediately took it to the range after giving it a brief going over, runs like crazy. Lower is Enfiels and appears to have been made in 1965, all Enfield except for receiver, which is supposedly an unmarked Imbel. Any markings I should look for to confirm Imbel?

Anzac, I’m fairly certain that yours is an Imbel receiver. I base this on comparisons to pictures of some “Imbel” marked receivers. They are of the same configuration as your in regards to machine cuts, quality and color of finish. The best clue is that I have seen several CAI Sporter“Imbel” marked receivers that have the same serial number placement and with numbers very close to yours. Also check to see if your feed ramp is of the “widows peak” configuration as this is an Imbel feature. Salt Flat

Yep, it's Imbel. Made under license from FN in Brazilicon, a far cry and much better quality than the domestic USAicon produced Hesse Arms receivers CAI used also later on.
