    Proposed ITAR changes

Please, please, please don’t bring politics into this. The rules of this forum prohibit politics and the thread will be closed if we don’t just concentrate on the regulations.

    ****************

One of the proposed changes could be very detrimental all of us on this forum. Basically it would classify information posted here or anywhere on the internet as being “exported” and we would have to get State Department approval before posting "technical data". The penalties could be up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $1 million for each violation.

Here are the proposed changes https://www.pmddtc.state.gov/FR/2015/80FR31525.pdf

The comment period for the proposed ITAR changes ends August 3. If you live in the USAicon and enjoy Military Surplus weapons, you might want to read up on the proposed changes and consider sending in your comments.

    *******************

    Again, PLEASE no politics.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Too bad it is political Vincent. All the stops will be pulled out on the last leg of this administration here in the land of the free. We'd better hope our so-called elected representatives bring some common sense back. I haven't seen much so far. I drive on through the BS one day at a time since I'm a paying customer. I reckon all of these ITAR regs would be great if some of the agencies involved as well as the rest of the world gave a crap. The inconsistencies are very telling.

On the plus side............ Just that bit of computer generated bit of paper was sufficient to assist me smoothly through US customs TWICE on my way back after a couple of items were x-rayed in my bag. Just knowing that everything was above board was very satisfying.

    Thanks all concerned
