1903 Colt .32 General Officer Pistol Rig
I looked back and I don't think I've ever posted on this piece which I picked up last year.
I picked this pistol up from a who purchased it at a gun show many years ago. After making the purchase at a fair price I later discovered it was actually one that had been issued to a Brigadier General Hughes L. Ash in 1961. BG Ashe's service record covered WWII, Korean & the early Vietnam period retiring in 1968. Since acquiring the piece I have been able to reach out to the General’s daughter who has been so kind and has shared information on the General, even going so far as to send me the rig belt that belonged to the General as a gift. The General in his last few years in service became friends with JFK while he was involved in the Defense Atomic Agency (1961-1964) during the Bay of Pigs era with Cuba. One of his last positions was acting as the Iran Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, HQ U.S. Continental Army Command . I hope you enjoy viewing.
