    Gun show in Waukesha Wisconsin

I attended the Bob & Rocco gun show this evening west of Milwaukee in Waukesha Wisconsin.
I arrived about 45 minutes after the doors opened and I had to park in second to last row in the parking lot. That is the first time I have ever seen this show that busy on a Friday evening (show hours 5-9PM)
The place was packed. Ammo was flying out the doors. Black rifles were being sold and prices haggled all over the place. I thought someone was giving something away there were so many people.
There were several tables of Private sales. Maybe some of these people had fallen on hard times? There were bargains to be had if you were looking for modern weapons. I went looking for old automatic Colts. 1911 and 1911a1 were available but no bargains to be had.
Best item I saw was a converted machine gun (to semi-auto) with both a 30-06 and a 308 barrel with 1000 rds of loose 30-06 ammo for $1850. I actually thought about it but just had to put over $1600 into my truck. There were 2 dealers selling these converson units. Has anyone else seen them??
Sales in geneal seemed quite brisk, lots of guns exchanging hands this evening and there are 2 more days to go on this show.
Saw some garands and a couple of carbines but no bargains. I didn't have my guages with me or I would have checked out a couple of them.
Garands were running in the $825-$875 range and they were nothing special.
Did see one with a 1950 dated VAR barrel that one probably would have been a great shooter.
Nice to see people out buying, but I still don't know what prompted the larger than usual crowd.
I did find a guy that had lots of old sights for both rifles and pistols. If someone needs something I will be happy to give you his phone number. I picked up one of his business cards. He does not have a web site that I know of. He will be at the gun show for the next 2 days and I do have a cell phone # off his card. He was busy and I didn't get a chance to talk to him and don't know how he would handle a request from out of state but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try.
His card says "Antique & Obsolete Gun sights"

I think I know the guy that you are talking about. He had a side plate to an old Redfield site that I needed.I found some old screws that my dad had in his basement, put them on,and the site looks like it has been together along time.
