US No IV type survival tool before & after
I found this in an antique store. Upon closer examination found that the condition was rougher than it appeared in the dim light of the store so I deciced to freshen it up a bit. I sent it back to the current producer of the Woodsmans Pal for replacement of the split leather disks and resharpening. They did a wonderful job with my request to match the profile of the original leather handle and the sharpening looks far better than the "field expedient" shapening in the before photo. I cleaned up the blade with steel wool and cold blued the shiny areas. A little dye fixed the natural leather color of the handle and here you have it before & after. It still looks used but not abused. Perhaps I devalued it but I like it much better now. Looks much better now. If you could find the Rex Applegate book on fighting with one now...
