Yes, that hideous specimen of someone's fertile imagination was indeed for sale at Bisley. From memory the asking price was somewhere in the region of £1600.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

"This is the best-looking SMLE I have ever seen with the largest military scope I have ever seen. 100% original and not messed about with. I don’t know how to describe it!"

I DO know how to describe it!

Yes, I've seen it at various arms fairs since it's been deactivated. I've only got snipers with titchy little aldis & such like scopes on them..............wish I had a BIG one like that.

    (It's called scope envy).

Maybe it should be de activated right away from the for sale - maybe it was a Mark for near sighted snipers to help them see futher in bad light conditions hence the large Objective lense, I like SMLE's immensely but this thing looks like it is a Frankenstein nightmare,"It lives"........

Must be what Maj. Koenig used in WWI, from behind Britishicon lines of course.

“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

    Edward Bernays, 1928

Much changes, much remains the same.
