You are correct, it doesn't specify ban. However, going through the news on it for the last few years, it started out the same way all bans did. A few experts (chefs, etc) stated that no one really needs a pointy knife, and those are only used for violent purposes. Then a few well meaning interfering sorts started a blog and campaign to "save a life, turn in a knife", because of the "staggering" stats on knife violence. You now have the police forces joining in, and some celebrities, with "knife amnesities". Tell me, if something isn't illegal, then why do you need an amnesty? It's a slippery slope.......next you'll have some municipalities banning knives within them (if that hasn't happened already) and then the legislation creeps in. I'm asking if there are already bans in place, as there are all these references to amnesties, and no surveillance cameras, and no fear of prosecution.......
Same as in Canada. The upcoming election is going to be important for firearms owners. The Liberals under Trudeau have stated they will not be re-enacting the long gun registry which was scrapped by the Conservatives, "because the necessary stricter control can be achieved by a combination of classification and more stringent license scrutiny"

It will go the same way as it did in Scotland with a mish mash bill that meant you had to have a licence to sell knives and bayonets. None of the overpaid numpties in the Scottish Parliament could define a knife so that was to be left to the courts to decide.
I cannot display or mention bayonets on my website without paying some outfit a large sum of money. Should I decide to get a licence there are some that would say I also need a licence to trade in second hand goods which is more money for the council. There are exemptions for 'Cultural' reasons Skean Dhus and Sikh swords. I don't know the details as I gave reading the tosh after putting my objections in writing. These people will in the course of a few years get some form of legislation on the books because we have 1) Too many MPs and 2) None of them are pepared to face up to the real issues of violent human beings and what we do with them. This is the reason that Scotland will bring in Airgun licensing. As from next year you can come up to Scotland to shoot bringing your Rifle and a Sec 1 Shotgun without any bother but you will need a Visitors permit if you want to bring your old air gun.
