Pics of Wire Wrapped GL rifles serial # G1 and G2

Jon Ansley kindly provided his G2 rifle for photographs this week end. This raises more questions than answers. Typical for Britishicon Collectors.

    G1 is a former NRF 1918 No.1 MkIII* serial #S75045 cancelled.

G2 is a former Enfield 1903 No.1 Mk1*** serial #58A cancelled. Wood and metal, EY marked.

I have more G series GL rifles and they are all No.1 Mk1*** variants.

Perhaps there are two different series of grenade launchers. Same wrapping technique but different rifle models?? Or were the first couple examples and the rest followed?
