FN FAL Bayonet Country ID?

I'm no bayonet fiend or expert by any stretch of the imagination but isn't this a UK FN bayonet with those prongs that were supposed to act as a primitive flash eliminator when the bayonet was fixed - as we had faffed around with during the EM2 trials/No7 type bayonets?

I know what you're going to say......... Surely, if you need a flash eliminator, you need it ALL of the time, not just when the bayonet is fixed. Yep......, but I'm just saying what I saw and what we had tucked away at Warminster.

As for the scabbards. I would imagine that FN just supplied what the man with the money asked for. If he wanted oval, he got oval. Round and he got round. Square and...............

Trials bayonets for the FN were the X8E1. So stamped along the spine. And also the Rifles serial number on each Bayonet. To match the rifle.
Scabbard Throat tops were also X8E2 Stamped. But NOT serial numbered. (Not enough room around the periphery of the throat area)

I spent 15 years in the Army and even deployed into a war zone and was never issued a bayonet.

I was Ordnance. We had recovery, heavy lift, transport, repair, and supply capabilities. We ran a cannibalization yard in Saudi Arabia along with the captured enemy equipment yard.

British bayonets for the X8 were stamped X2 E1 I have a good one that was not chopped as many were ( and now welded back together)

It took a long time for me to find a T48 style bayonet and scabbard for the Belgian 50-00 FN FAL with the long flash hider. They are much scarcer than the rifles, at least in the USA.

I am STILL searching for an FN Type 'A' bayonet for my own collection if anyone can help?...........

It looks similar to the Bayonets shown here (Except for the Markings, ignore that feature!) but does NOT have the Two 'Prongs' associated with being a Rudementry Flash Hider.

In answer to the original question, could it be Indian??? Did they use any other style of bayonet for their F.N. rifles other than the No5 style of bayonet?

I give up on this quest but it did turn into a nice conversation. I just looked up who used the FN FAL and thus probably the Type A bayonet. 55 countries, only a few of which would have made their own. So this is probably Belgium made no matter who used it. Book was not helpful in anything Indian other than they are listed as using the FN FAL.
