A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Peter, If you look in Graham Priest's book on pages 270-274 there are some pictures etc of this Armscor bayonet with a No4 socket fitting and he has also written a few paragraphs on the matter. This is the same bayonet which I have and I am sorry that I am not able, at present, to up-load pictures of my actual example. I have read what Graham has written but I cant figure out if he is saying that this bayonet is intended for the Uzi, the No4 or both. To be fair to him he does say in his book that at the time of writing certain information relating to it was still restricted. Was there a problem with the normal attachment method of fitting a bayonet to the Uzi, whatever that is, and it was felt that the No4 method was better?

I'm clearly not making myself clear Flying 10! It's not books I need, it's answers! I know about the SA double edged No9 type bayonets. Like I said earlier, we had one or two. The bayonet isn't what I am asking about. Forget the bayonet - that is a red herring. I am asking about (see thread 41) the existence of SAfr (?) made UZI barrels configured to take No4 type bayonets.

I am sorry, Peter, I missed the bit in your earlier post stating that you had one or two of the Armscor bayonets at Warminster.

    Hi Tankhunter.

Sorry but I have had little time to check my forum due to my going on an extended trip on Monday for a month.

Will look into the Usi issue and the Type b Bayonet you want as soon as I am back!
