    '07 Chapman

I have a 1916 Chapman '07 bayonet and the tear drop studded scabbard this has me a bit intrigued as far as I can ascertain it has the following stamping broad arrow then under that barely legible A C (Arthur Chapman) then the bit I think is weird it has an 18 above a 16 so could this be a repair then re-issue in 1918 am I correct in this reasoning any info would be welcome. Seems with all the stuff going on during that period that the scabbard and bayonet have remained together. TIA

It has a mate in a 1916 J.A.C (James Arthur Chapman) the Chapman line I think only produced up to I think in 1916 117,000 and a total war prod of 300,000 could be wrong but thats just from memory, sorry for no pics but I do not have a macro camera and the I-phone would be useless.
