    show us ya owen's!

please post pictures of your owen guns, accessories, etc.

the more pictures and the more details, the better.

over here the chance of any mere mortal actually owning one is basically nil. even a replica would need the same licences and safes as a real one...

    thanks
    henry.

I remember back in the '70s being offered a dewat Owen gun for about $400, which at the time was a month's pay for me...almost wish I'd taken it now, but it would have ended up being sold when I though I was making big money. Then too I could have bought #1 mk5s, #4T, mint #5s...not many M1s though. That was when I bought my LL M1icon. All gone now...too bad.
    Regards, Jim

The Owen was the first firearm I had Skill of Arms with, my very first , it was a dream to shoot for a left hander.
Achieved the same badge when the F1 replaced it, managed to get a couple of junkets to International competitions like BISAM.

Speaking of BISAM, the yanks fielded their first teams to the event, as did China..........and it was a real eye opener for the Superpowers to see how good the smaller nations were.
The Indon's cleaned up again with some spectacular shooting. Shouldn't pick on the US though, they lost the World Championships for Long Range target shooting to Ben Emms from OZ and the 2015 USAicon Championship to Matt Pozzebon from the West Wallsend Club down the road from us.

I thought I might have had more pic's, but in those days it was frowned on a bit, my camera hid in a basic pouch most of the time.Attachment 67643

Though I should have had some on range practices.........just can't locate them, a bit like my brain.........bits missing in action.

I have one, taken walking across a stream on the 'jungle walk' range during military training in Malaya but it's amongst the other stuff that I keep meaning to sort out. Muffer is right about keeping your camera hidden on ops. It was seriously frowned on. As we know from the Marine experience recently, the repercussions are frightening!
