    I shot my chronograph once. Just a little. Replaced it. Too valuable not to have.

    Same chronograph on a prior date. I was testing some reloads AND zeroing the scope at the same time. (I'm cheap. I mean 'thrifty'. Yeah. Thrifty.) I managed to hit one of the metal light diffuser supports (Chrony chronograph). Blew the support to heck and gone. Simply missing.

    Then I checked the target. Group wasn't bad, but the missing support was in one of the holes in the target. I could NEVER do that on purpose.

    You may have started the Chrony to have syndrome mind you not every hit is going to leave the chrony in a repairable state, friend and I are going shares in a Magnetic one but even then you can shoot them if you do not set them up correctly
