    Use of Front Sight Cover

Is a front sight cover recommended for shooting the trapdoor rifle? Just wondering if many use them or not.

    TIA.

i always use the front sight cover when shooting. it sharpens up the front sight blade for my "over (way over) 40 eyes". also, i think that it helps center the target focus quicker, esp usefull when hunting. best, john

    Thanks John.

Do you use the snap-on type, or the solid with screw type front cover?

    Regards.
    Jim

Jim, i use the snap on front sight protector. it gives me a nice sight picture and shades the sight blade enough to pick it out quickly. john

I got the front sight cover for my Model 1888. I'm not sure if it's helping my sight picture or hurting it but I wanted all the bells and whistles for my rifle so I got it and I certainly don't regret it. Functionally I like the fact that the front sight is protected. Id Knisely sent me the screw on cover and it is substantial.
