I keep coming back to the M1 Carbine as my GO TO HD Weapon

Back to home defense: Back in the 90's when I still lived in Fla. I had a Mexican family move into the old house next to me. There kids were nice and spoke English and they bought Avon from my wife. The husband was a drunk. One night he started shooting up the house. I had two minor children at the time so I put my M1 with 4- 30rd [FMJ] clips by the TV. The wife and Kids came to my house to get away from the husband. By that time I already called the Sheriff. when the Sheriff came and we told them what was going on, one looked at the M1 and asked what was that for. I told him if bullets come thru my walls, I'm sending some back. He said "think first and I don't see a thing". Anyhow the outcome was the family went to friends and the husband went to jail. In Fla. I was allowed to protect minor children anyway possible. GK
