Transit Case for No. 4 rifle

Is anyone in the U.S. currently remaking the no. 15 transit case for the no. 4 T rifle at a reasonable cost?

If your handy with a saw and can do dovetails then have a look in the Knowledge Libraryicon, there is a set of blueprints see link below ....... and remember your not building a Queen Anne Chair, its a transit chest designed to keep the the contents in good order while in transit or storage etc.

The L42 transit chest I have certainly wasn't labeled as " Fragile " , certainly had a hard life but, the inside is as good as new.

Are they still in business? I had sent an email to them a year ago and never got a reply. The website does not look to have been updated since then.

Dovetails? What are they? I last used a handsaw circa 1968. (Not really). I lack the skill and equipment to create this simple box so I have to rely on the skills of others to supply it.

Even simpler answer. Get the drawings and then put an ad in the local newspaper asking if there is a retired carpenter or cabinet maker who will do it for pocket money plus costs. Like someone said......., we ain't talkin' Chippendale here!

Grant made me one, a special order, with. a clear front panel, for my 1943 Long Branch prototype (T). An excellent job with superb worksmanship.

I've got two 95% complete reproductions sat in my Garage gathering dust, shame you're on the other side of the pond.

    Cheers,

    Simon.
