    Soldier with Broken Rifle

Since the Caption Read "this issue rifle was not an M1icon Garand" then what was it, looks very similar.

A U.S. soldier looks at a shattered M1903 rifle which was shot from the hands of a friend after the Attu landing in the Aleutian campaign. His comrade died from his wounds.

Note that soldiers there may not have been supplied with the latest weapons, since this issue rifle was not an M1 Garand.

I google M1903 Rifle earlier after I posted this picture of this Soldier with a shot up Rifle to see what they were talking about and to read about and to look at the M1903 to see the difference up close. The M1903 Rifle had its Heyday in WW1, but was way outdated for the 2nd War. Mainly it was still used by some Snipers who trained with it before being sent to War. After looking and reading about one I know in WW2 the M1icon Garand was a GODSEND for Troops in the War from using a 5 Round Bolt Action to a 8 Round Semi-Auto. The Garand was one of the best Invented or Upgraded Military Rifle ever made. OH! What a sweet Rifle it is ! I know everyone here knows about the M1903 Bolt Action. I just posted this for my take on how instrumental the M1 Garand was in helping us out and are allies win WW2.
