    Accumount No4 T Mount quality?

    First time posting here,

I have been restoring this sporterized No4 Mk1/3 and wanted to convert it to a
No4 T replica. I am in Canadaicon so I cannot order the Sarco mount.

Accumount ships to Canada and I don't know of anywhere else I can order these parts.

I'm curious to know if anyone else here did a conversion using their parts and I'm wondering about the quality of the mount if its worth buying or not.

    Thankks

From what I have learnt from the people here that the Ministry of Defense (MoD) reckoned they were good enough to allow their use have a look through some old threads on the matter. Others will chime in I am sure. Welcome to milsurps.
I thought Roger was accumounts and stand corrected but go with what BD is saying as those no GunSmith mounts are just that FUGLY and if you want a lookalike T then they are not the type you want

I have fitted a few. The rear pad is always too thin, and ive needed to braze a packer on the back of them to pack it out and also raise it.

Its been on the borderline of being easier to machine a new replacement rear pad.

The scope brackets are okay, but not a patch on those made by Roger Payneicon.

Flaws considered, they are reasonable, and I've just ordered another 2 sets for projects on the bench now.

They are not perfect, but they can be made to work well, and in my opinion they are pretty good value. Ill be no doubt getting more.

Accumounts have the sarco mount plus pads on there site, the no gunsmith mount comes in different guises, there are cheaper ones on ebay for around $60 which do the same job. At the end of the day it won't be a replica No4T it will be a no4 with a scope mounted.......

Missread the post regarding the mount, I gathered you were going for the no gunsmith mount, I agree with Tbone, if your looking at a bracket I,d go for a Roger Payneicon one, these are the ones Cinders should be referring to regarding the MOD.

One of my brackets may not be the ideal choice for the OP as I simply cannot compete on price with the other producers. As he is making up a replica I would think an accumount bracket would be a better proposition than the very cheap Pacific Rim variety. Most of my mounts have gone on restoration projects of original 4T's & L42's, although some have been used on the creation of clones, but it will make it an expensive 'faux' sniper's rifle.

I hope to finally get the latest batch of castings machined up for the Spring, for those amongst you who have been patiently waiting! This will probably be the last batch I do - I've been doing them since 1990 & it's so much hassle I may just concentrate on doing small volume runs of WW1 sniper mounts like the PPCo, Aldis/H&H & so on in future........much less stress!

Yes, I would like to have one of the more original style mounts than the no-gunsmith type ones.

I would be doing this for both fun and functionality.

What could I expect for prices on your bracket and pads?

    I am interested.

    Thanks again.

Hello. I can't be certain yet on prices of my brackets as there are still some costs that I can only guesstimate, although I'm afraid they'll be a lot more than the 99 Buck jobs that you see advertised in the US. I am hoping to be able to retail them for 250 pounds - less if the awaited costs are kind to me, but 250 should be the worst scenario. I know it's expensive, but the castings are made just like the originals & to a Britishicon Standard, & the machining is done by experts who send me test pieces so I can ensure everything collimates (to within fairly tight limits on a selection of genuine un-messedaboutwith 4T's), & I do the final finishing personally, on each bracket before it goes out.

I used to sell body pads but don't any longer as I have found that with the excellent pads that Fultons of Bisley offer, there is really no point in me bothering. Their product is first rate, though again, not cheap.

    Hope this helps.

    ATB.

I tried two different `no gunsmithing´ type mounts without much success. They were both a waste of time and effort. Eventually, the Canadianicon mount with the Picatinny rail provided the best alternative (not limited to one inch tubes) and is very well made.

I was lucky enough to have a rifle with the pads fitted and found the accumount bracket fitted well on my 'Faux' 4T
