    A question about Colombian 30-06's

Hi all, thought I would try my luck asking here.
Great forum and an excellent source of info
I recently stumbled across a sporterized Colombian Mauser at quite a cheap cost.
The stock is a throw away travesty, the action however is in near new condition. Bright sharp rifling and the parkerising all intact.
I have a 1950's Belgian Mauser , the stock I believe is exactly the same. One idea was to remove my original barrelled action and slot in this one as its in far better condition.
My question is, are there any other types of Mauser military stocks that a Colombian 30-06 Mauser barrelled action would slot into? Or where I could find a Colombian Mauser stock set? Any info or leads would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks in advance

They are pretty much common M98 Mausers, but there is a but. They are 30-06 and the trigger guards have been lengthened by the arsenal. They will not likely "drop in" to your stock. You will have to remove a slight amount of wood to get the TG into the stock. Once converted they are "hurt" forever. I find VZ-24 stocks are good stocks for these rifles. Look around, good luck.

I'm guessing that you have the 23.6" barrel one and not the 17.7" barrel one right?

If it is the longer barrel one pretty much most M98 military stocks for a similar barrel length will fit with a slight amount of fitting as noted by Steve above.

VZ24 stock will likely be your cheapest option
