Must be a really fast horse, but what does this have to do with open carry?

Correct...He has a Radar Gun. When they do this there's usually a couple of cars parked on each side of the Highway. It's kinda of Ironic. You Can Legally carry a Rifle in your Truck or Car you can Conceal or OC a Handgun. Now there Cars and Trucks out there with Rifles and Pistols. I hate to see a bad case of Road Rage. So the Ironic part is your Truck or Car is like a Horse in the Western Days of riding with both. I always carry a Rifle in my Truck. I've been pulled over before and had Policeman admire my M1icon Carbine. He ask me if I mind if he could look it over and said "I got to get one these one day" and handed it back to me. It's fun to live in Texas unless some crazy guy starts shooting at you.

Hoo-boy. I'm going to date myself: I remember when these radar guns first showed up in the hands of policemen on the side of the road and dispatchers started getting frantice calls from motorists saying someone had held a gun on them while they were driving.

You would have to live here to understand why. I should of added that it was a big issue here on the news about the Police saying that when this happens it going to be like the days of the West when people carried both on a Horse. So they day it was aloud a Constable took it upon himself to go right there to that spot were people come into our city to show how we went back to the ways of the Old West.

Reminds me of the Dukes of Hazzard episode where Boss Hogg gave Rosco and Enos horses because they'd wrecked all the patrol cars trying to catch Bo and Luke.*
Believe it or not in the mid '80's the Podunk town of Backville, S.C. equipped it's police dept. with DIESEL VW Rabbit's for patrol cars. Those things were so slow till they had bug marks on the back glass. They finally came to their senses a few years later when robbers knocked over the bank and got away because those slow VW's couldn't keep up with the get away car, a Pontiac Tran Am that was a dead ringer for the one Burt Reynolds drove in the First Smokey and the Bandit movie. A highway Patrol buddy was involved in the chase and told me later it showed up their Crown Vics too but it couldn't shake the little Mustang GT interceptor the SCHP had recently got. The driver lost control on a curve in the neighboring county and that brought the chase to a screeching halt.
I always thought it was the Radio you can't beat. I know just about any Car can out run a VW, but that Police Radio is almost impossible. The Police Dept. Here went to GMC Tahoes 4x4's. They do still have a few Cars, but since Padre Island is growing fast and the Newest and Biggest Schillerbahn Water Park is on the Island they bougnt a fleet of them. You should see how fast they drive right by you on the Freeway or City. There Screaming Fast.

We've always had OC in PA. Not really a big deal. The only thing Texas has had over Pennsylvania is looser use of force laws. We took care of that a few years back adopting the Castle doctrine/stand your ground laws. Before that if some moron made you shoot him, he or his survivors could sue you. Not now, and they said the same thing back then. It'll be the Wild West, Blood in the streets, shootouts on the roads, dead babies and puppies everywhere all that mumbo jumbo. Ain't nothing changed.......

If I start on speeding/red light cameras or Local and State police I'll get banned. I drive for a living and oh boy do I have some stories..

Peter, police go after speeders as they are the "low hanging fruit"and solving real crime is much more difficult. If you in the UKicon have the same issues of hiring cops who literally are stump stupid like we do in Canadaicon it is obvious why crime is rampant!
Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

I'd want to carry something different depending on the day...have a whole bouquet of different little prizes to show off.
