Good morning muffet...
Sorry for the delay, but I've been traveling on business...
Received your email and pics with your brief description of them...
You said "problem screen"
Attachment 69949
(Click PIC to Enlarge)
This pic above appears to be a pic taken of our site showing the
Basic screen (Enhanced Mode OFF) which looks like this.
Attachment 69953
(Click PIC to Enlarge)
Using your personal
Edit Options (click here) page, you can set which back and forth as to which method is your personal default.
Attachment 69954
(Click PIC to Enlarge)
I'd recommend going to your
Edit Options (click here) page, and as a test, set the default temporarily as
Basic (Enhanced Mode OFF), even though it currently shows
Enhanced mode as ON, just to see what happens when you go back and try an upload in that Enhanced Mode OFF mode.
You said: "good screen"
Attachment 69951

This appears to be a pic from a completely different web site.. Gunboards. It shows the pic of a vBulletin software (different version) uploader screen being used in
Enhanced mode.
You said: "lost pics"
Attachment 69950

Those blank thumbnail squares with
X's indicate to me that our site can't find and send pics currently stored under your username, for display in the open uploads browser window on your end. It could be indicative of a connection to our site which isn't actually there any longer.
You said "windows 10"
Attachment 69948
(Click PIC to Enlarge)
I'm not sure what that means, but it does appear to be a photo of Windows screen. Our end shows you running Windows 10 for your last post and Windows XP for posts previous to that.
Let’s check something.
Please go to the link
Whats My User Agent? (click here)
You will see something that looks like this...
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:33.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/33.0 and an IP address.
Please copy and paste the UserAgent string and the
IP address shown into an email and send it to me.
You said "general timeout"
Attachment 69952
(Click PIC to Enlarge)
Again, the photo of the screen is hard to see, but it does look like some kind of a general internet 504 time-out screen, indicating a lost connection with our server.
It is NOT a 504 time-out screen that would be displayed by our
Sucuri CloudProxy firewall provider, but more likely is something from your local ISP, or browser generated.
Sucuri's CloudProxy firewall 504 time-out screen looks like this.
(Click PIC to Enlarge)
I'm going to check with our CloudProxy firewall provider and see if they have any idea why you'd be the only one having trouble, as at the time of writing this, I've had no similar uploading complaints reported from any other member.
Perhaps it's something to do with your Australian Internet provider and the way they connect through the Internet to our CloudProxy firewall provider's service. I'm not sure, but we'll figure it out....
Regards,
Doug

Ok... think we have an answer...
For whatever reason, your IP address was identified (have no idea why) as a threat under the our CloudProxy firewall's IDS (Intrusion Detection System). As a result, your IP address was placed in a table which blocks access to certain types of network functions, often including things such as uploads etc.
I always suspected you were a hacker...
Your IP address has now been removed and you should be back to normal...
Let me know if you have any other problems..
Regards,
Doug
IDS — A Passive Security Solution
An intrusion detection system (IDS) is designed to monitor all inbound and outbound network activity and identify any suspicious patterns that may indicate a network or system attack from someone attempting to break into or compromise a system. IDS is considered to be a passive-monitoring system, since the main function of an IDS product is to warn you of suspicious activity taking place − not prevent them. An IDS essentially reviews your network traffic and data and will identify probes, attacks, exploits and other vulnerabilities. IDSs can respond to the suspicious event in one of several ways, which includes displaying an alert, logging the event or even paging an administrator. In some cases the IDS may be prompted to reconfigure the network to reduce the effects of the suspicious intrusion.
An IDS specifically looks for suspicious activity and events that might be the result of a virus, worm or hacker. This is done by looking for known intrusion signatures or attack signatures that characterize different worms or viruses and by tracking general variances which differ from regular system activity. The IDS is able to provide notification of only known attacks.
The term IDS actually covers a large variety of products, for which all produce the end result of detecting intrusions. An IDS solution can come in the form of cheaper shareware or freely distributed open source programs, to a much more expensive and secure vendor software solution. Additionally, some IDSs consist of both software applications and hardware appliances and sensor devices which are installed at different points along your network.

Doug. your efforts are much appreciated, I finally managed to update the Lithgow Survey file.......one at a time.
Tried all the variables, still unable to get the original window back that allows you to upload multipul pic's direct.
What I can get is ......the single file window/basic editor/enhanced on., single file window/standard editor/enhanced on, single file window/enhanced interface/enhanced on.
Multiple file window/enhanced interface/enhanced off., multiple file window/standard editor/enhanced off, multiple file window/basic editor/enhanced off.
I can work with that, however it is double handleing the files, I must first upload to the window, add the file to the storage, then add to the thread.
The system thats missing uploaded direct to the storage and you could then pick the file to add to the thread.
Once again, I appreciate your time......yeah you are probably right about me being a hacker.

You're welcome partner ...
My apologies for not being quicker in recognizing your IP address had been scooped up by our Sucuri firewall and being misidentified as being from a hacker.
It's a new defensive system for us designed to provide enhanced protection to our members, not something that should interfere with their enjoyment of our site. I'm still new at working with it, but I get better each day as I see issues such as yours.
As far as whether you see the Enhanced Attachment Uploading option (screen) ON or OFF, I just logged in under your user name to view what you should see, as shown here:
Attachment 70017 -- Attachment 70018
As you can see, your Enhanced Attachment Uploading option is checked and turned ON.
I started a post and selected Manage Attachments.
The upload screen shown above opened up and I'm able to select multiple files and add them to the upload list without any problems.
So, I'm not sure why you don't see the same thing on your end. The multiple file option works for me when logged in under your username.
It's a Flash based system, so make sure the option to use Flash is turned ON within your Internet browser's options.
One thing you need to do for sure is CLEAR YOUR CACHE on your browser to ensure you're loading current site templates and not old ones stored on your computer locally.
Also, I notice you are back to using IE8 in your last post. I understand from reading issues about IE8 on other sites, that the Enhanced Attachment Uploading option for multiple files may have issues for people using IE9 and earlier, and they may be only allowed to select one file at a time. Apparently, IE10 and IE11 will work unless you have them in compatibility mode with IE9. So, perhaps also try your FireFox and Chrome browsers to see if they work?
I'll do some more experimenting on my end and see what I can find out to help you, but this is a different problem than the Sucuri CloudProxy "hacker" issue, although the latter may have been triggered by all of the playing around we've done trying to get the Enhanced Attachment Uploading option working for you again.
Regards,
Doug
