Besides U.S. Cavalry items I'm trying to complete a small collection of U.S. sabers. I already have a couple early 1902s and wanted to find a nice presentation piece.I ended up with one manufactured by RIDABOCK & Co NEW YORK, N.Y. It's engraved and named to an Individual and dated. The inscription on the scabbard reads, 'Presented To 1st Lieut William F. Simonson by Co. B. 23rd Regt. Infty. N.G.N.Y. November 9 1908'. It came with a nice knot also. The blade is very ornate with Eagles and fancy etching and one side in the middle has Lt. Simonson's name etched. Now the quest for a nice 1872 and 1860 should about do it for awhile!
