    From my experience collecting Lee Enfields, over 1/3 of them had either the spacer or the lock washer missing under the front trigger guard screw. For this reason I have extras of these because I've learned to expect their absence. On one really nice No.5, someone obviously shot it numerous times without the spacer, causing severe wear around the wood, requiring a rebuild of the elliptical hole that resulted.

    Thankfully I managed to obtain a spacer from the nice folk at DS Solutions, I'll have a look at what impact it may have had on the woodwork not having a spacer fitted.
