Question about Rem 03A3 buttplate finish

When did Remington begin switching from blued to parkerized buttplates? Thanks for any assistance.

They were "regular" Remington buttplates that had ben refinished during overhaul.

I have a couple that seem to be parkerized, but show no wear. All the edges and the checkering is sharp.???

parkerizing wont change that, if anything , it will make the edges sharper, and the checkering stand out more.
media blasting raises the surface, and doesnt round the edges.

All factory original Remington buttplates were blued. Overhauled (refinished) and war time replacement contract buttplates were parkerized.
