Needing Help Identifying a Front Sight

I found this Front Sight with a Number 3 on one side. The only place I can find anything about is on Part markings. (check here first) : Parts Markings / Stocks . How much of this Website is True ? It shows 2 M1icon Carbine Manufacturers of using it, but I'm skeptical about this Sight being Correct even though there are several correct markings on this Website. TIA

The sight was made by Niedner, the number was stamped by Irwin-Pedersen.

On this Front Sight there is No marking on top and I assume there should be none. The only picture I did find just showed the side. I think if there was something that goes on the top of this sight the book would of showed it. Anyone knows if there should be a marking on top ? TIA.

R P is the marking for Planert Skate Co. for Rockola, they have shown up on a few IP carbines.
