    Hey, guys

I think Holder got the message. He was saying the other day how interested he was in enforcing the laws we got. Maybe he can get some budget t do that ...

I went to the gun shop to see if there was a shortage. They were pretty low on primers but plenty of bullets and powder. I bought 100 large rifle mag primers, probably enough with what I already got to last until the shortage is over.

I bought beaucoup primers during the great primer scare of '92 (or was it '93?) and still have some of them rotting away in my shop. The standard rifle primers don't seem to light things up the way they should, even though I've kept them dry for all these years. I use them for plinking loads.

I just got back from the local Gander. They are putting a limit of 500 on primers in a single purchase! Don't know if this is an individual store policy or whether its corporate. Either way, that isn't a whole lot of primers, particularly for someone who normally purchases 5000 at a time.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

    Had I told you...

... that the sale of most ammo, most reloading components and tools, and most firearms would nearly cease in the USAicon by 3/15/2009. And that it wouldn't be the Democrats, nor Obamama, nor the Brady bunch that would be responsible, you would have laughed at me. Yet that is exactly what has happened and the blame should be laid squarely on the shoulders of the idiots in the gun crowd. They are the ones who did it and they are proud of their work! They were too cowardly to stand up and say to the left wing "NO NOT HERE!" Instead they slink around buying and hoarding with their tails between their legs and whispering "Boy, look what I've got! I have really screwed the Democrats this time. Look how great I am!

Think about it while you are patting yourself on the back.

    Red, guys,

Things will ease up after a while. CCI and Hodgdon and Speer/Sierra will make a small pile of cash, a few panicked shooters will end up with a lifetime supply of components rotting away slowly in their basements/garages/sheds. I figure things will be back to normal before hunting season.

And if they aren't I've got enough stuff to get me through the season and then some.

    Stay cool ..

Hey Ron --Go out to the Blackcanyon range, the last time I was there .270 was 5 cents each and around hunting (sightin) season .270 aplenty, I got 60 out of the brass bin. I haven't been there for several months but I think policy still the same. Going out next week to sight in my newly built .270. 03A3 Springfield receiver, Douglas heavy sporter barrel, H&S fiberglass stock and Sweet .270 ranging scope on Redfield mounts. Going to try 130 grain and 150 grain bullets loaded with H4831. Ivan

Huh? What are you talking about here? Sales are through the roof. They are selling everything they can get their hands on. So much so, they have no residual stock for normal retail sales. They have a backlog of orders that's probably unprecedented.

This is NOT to be mistaken as sales ceasing, it is sales so high they're through the roof.

Mike, I think that he meant that there are none available because folks have panicked and bought more than they needed. Sales have stopped because there is no inventory, because sales have been through the roof for several months now.

I agree with Red, if everyone would just calm down, take it easy, crack open a beer, instead of going nuts with the credit card at Graf or Natchez, in a couple of weeks there would be plenty enough to go around.

I think the panic buying is a good thing.
One, it has kept the firearms business working in economically tough times which other wise may have gone under.(Many have during previous tough times.)
Second,it has sent a message to those in power that any anti-gun legislature could be a tough sell.
