Yes we have all done that for people and hoped and prayed, noone ever looked any closer at unravelling the truth.
The good old days where one had the power to change individuals lives by being in such an important position such as Armourer....................or in your case QM's Stores.
Hope you still have the smocks, they are like "rocking horse poo" and make some good money.
I was recently presented by the author, a £40 definitive book on smocks of the Airborne Forces, and never realised in any depth just how many and how valuable certain smocks were, followed by one on Airborne Special Forces Headress.
I know also, so we don't hijack the thread that there is one on the Bren variations which I think someone spoke about a while back.
    Great stuff

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Sadly Gil, all smocks long gone now. Including an Unissued Short zip Dennison, Of which I have never seen another in that condition again!

Swapped down the line, for god knows what. I cannot remember?.....
