So I guess you remove or grind off the Ford/Chrysler/Dodge/GM etc logos too then?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I personally think that is a great idea. Orest and the CMPicon sure could use, and I bet appreciate, some future recognition for the work they've done.

You were talking about not caring for advertising or having "credentials" on a car.... but that's what a manufacturer's logo on a car is essentially about. The Ford logo and "F-150" in bold chrome on a truck advertises Ford's brand and is a prestigious logo. So by the same logic, one should also agree that they should remove the maufacturer's logos on the new car if they don't like advertising or credentials.

The CMP stamp on a stock is not like a car dealer's sticker. If anything, the cmp logo will likely enhance the value of the stock over time, the dealer logo does nothing for the value of the car. The dealer is a strictly for-profit enterprise, the cmp has the noble cause of promoting and furthering of shooting sports in this country and is a well-respected enterprise.

Why anyone would be put-off by a cmp stamp on their stock is baffling to me.

I have to agree with Kirk, I like the "chicken and stars" stamp too. I have since they came out with it. JMO.
