    No32 Scope find

    Hi,
Am a first time poster to the forum after many years of reading only.
Have recently purchased a No32 scope after it was nearly thrown out in a house clean.
Could someone please confirm the maker, I think Taylor Hobson and Co?
Have uploaded some photo's, hope they come through all right.
    Cheers in advance.

Welcome to milsurps CONGRATS GREAT SAVE bloke well done it is as marked a No.32 Mk 2 scope that was fitted to the No.4 Sniper rifle I cannot comment if it was fitted on other marks of 303's. Serial looks like 9321 some one here may be able to track it but at least the serial No. can be recorded now correct me if the serial is incorrect as it is important to the guys who keep track of these beautifully engineered scopes.
There were 4 types of No.32's a Mk 1, Mk 2, Mk 2/1 converted and a Mk 3 others will fill you in more about them now all you need is the bracket and rifle to go with it.......

Those stories often make me wonder "Where's the rest?"...what happened to the rifle. So often things get separated and without the originator they remain that way until this happens...

    Thanks Cinders,
Was a privilege to acquire it and yes the serial number is 9321. Hopefully that can be recorded now.
Dont know the chances of finding its original T rifle or even the brackets for it here in Oz......
I am a surplus shooter and at this stage I dont think it would do the scope any justice by mounting it on a standard No.4 with a reproduction bracket.
Maybe it can find a home on its correct rifle somewhere in the world.....long shot...?

Guy Sajer: that was a good book, still have it somewhere. GrossDeutschland Pz. Gr. Div. he was in, but I forget the title of his book!

Nice find on the scope too.

9321 is a Kodak Mk2 made by Kodak (of camera fame) at Welwyn in Hertfordshire. Its brother 9322 was originally fitted to a 1944 No4T K-3xxxx so it's safe to assume that 9321 would be fitted to something around that sort of number. But that's sheer guesswork
