    model 12 Kleins? gun

    HI guys,
I have a late model 12 parkerized trench gun that has been converted to a 26 in barrel sporting gun. I would like to restore it if it is not cost prohibitive. I have read that the parkerized guns are worth more than the blued ones? evidently pretty does not apply here.
As far as I can tell I need a correct barrel, a correct barrel band that is attached to the bayonet adaptor stud, and a hand guard. the serial number is 1035389.
Woodyman 52 gave me some info a few years ago (thank you again) but I shelved the idea until now.
Any info on current value, and where to find parts would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Schlitzguzzler.

Some pics of the gun might help these guys and a WTB here will likely procure what you need...

Finding the correct parked barrel might be difficult but not impossible. You will need a real Model 12 trench gun barrel rather than a riot gun barrel because the bayonet adaptor will not fit properly on a riot barrel. You have to use a spacer or shims with a riot barrel to make the adaptor fit correctly. You also need a parkerized W marked bayonet adaptor/heat shield. Again, difficult to find, but they do show up from time to time. Keep a lookout on ebay for the parts or as Jim mentioned, put a WTB ad on the shotgun forums and you could get lucky.

Isn't that interesting, a gun that's been fully converted for someone's hunting gun...

Did the US ever use the Mod 12 in its "full-length" guise for aerial gunnery practice / training?

Yes the guns were put into a special mount upside down so the action could worked and easier to reload the mount mimic a machine gun mount found in most US WW2 aircraft they also were used for trap and skeet shooting there is a manual on the subject TM9-1100 they also used Remington model 31's 11's and Sportsman also Steven's model 520-30's 620's & 720's and Ithaca model 37's and a host of other long barreled shotguns
