Needs super low rings and an elevated cheek rest. Used a STANAG rail to mock it up.

S&B 5-25 well under the weight of the IWS.

Hi Cold Zero,
these are what were recommended to me, though i've not gotten around to buying them as yet, am told they fit the IWS brackets stanag system without any further modification.
MJ1 here on the forum has used these rings with a couple of his iws mounts, he had a few pics even with leupold mk4's (i.e 42mm objective) etc which would give an idea of height.

these would significantly lower the optical centreline compared to your mocked setup & should this need to be lowered further, it wouldnt be too difficult to do on a milling machine.

......however in your instance these are a 30mm ring, so would require machining to open out to 34mm and @ that there may not be enough remaining material? @ schmidt & bender prices, its not the type of thing you do on a whim.

Another option would be to unscrew the STANAG rail from the "J" rail and have rings made up with the same V shaped tenon and screw them straight to the J rail. Something I looked at in the past. Aluminum would be strong enough if the tenon was made a bit longer; maybe even long enough to use two the STANAG rail mounting screws? That would drop the tube by nearly an inch I suspect.

Rings made for the STANAG rail would be another option to eliminate the Picatinny.

Just a very small point Cold Zero but the zeroing heads and azimuth spring holder should be telescope colour and the ocular housing screws and on-off switch cover screws should be black . But the top left on-off cover screw should be red as it's the means of desiccating the tube when it's in the dry box.

Thanks Brian. Couple folks have pointed me to the STANAG rings as well, never got around to ordering yet. The scope was borrowed off another rifle to for the project.
