domain007: As far as non-sniper refurbs go, '43 and '44 are certainly the rarest. Many refurbs don't end up with a replacement stock that has the matching year of manufacture so that's a ggod thing. Another consideration on valuing these refurbs is bore condition. My experience has been that maybe one in ten or fewer have truly excellent, original condition bores. Not counting Bulgarian light refurbs (which tend to have great bores) I've only stumbled on two with mirror bright, excellent bores- one a '41 and one a '44. For resale value I suspect mechanical condition may prove to be as important with these mixmaster refurbs as what may be stamped on the receiver ring. How is your bore?

I've got an AVT stock on my 43 dated shooter. I think mine is an AVT/SVT conversion because of other features.
I like the thicker stock as it is more comfortable for me to shoot.

It is not illegal to import a gun from Canada to the US you just need to follow the import laws. as I said that gun would fetch 1300 USD

It is illegal to import Soviet surplus into the US. It is also why you guys haven't gotten any SVT-40s or Russian or Chinese SKS in decades. Otherwise do you really think dealers would bother selling SVT-40s here for 300-400$ when they could get 1100$ all day in the States?
