No 8 tin and scope cover

    Hello all,

I have a friend who is very deeply connected to estate sales, and travels from state to state to buy military items.

On his last outing, he located a No. 8 Mk 1 tin and leather scope cover. I purchased these over the weekend and am astonished at what still shows up from time to time, and where.

These items were located in a batch of garage tools & among tool boxes.

We agreed on a fair price and they are now mine. I did apply some leather oil to the scope cover as it was bone dry from the Arizona climate.

Unknown of what became of scope and rifle.

    Hope you enjoy the pics!

Anyone got a set of covers with that marking? Don't remember seeing that before.
“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”

Hepburn and Gale were a common manufacturer of leather parts. Made everything from school satchels to book page finders - and war related stuff inbetween
