Hi Folks--

I recently picked up two Pattern 14 rifles which were seriously Bubba'ed. One is an Eddystone with a Serial # 471XX and the other is a Winchester with a serial # 222XX. The Eddystone was in excellent condition for a DP rifle. Bubba had tried to convert the Eddystone it to a shooter with a used Winchester P14 barrel that was taken off with a relief cut. The Winchester barrel inside was pristine with no rust or pitting. Needless to say the rifle barrel could be hand turned in the action. The Winchester P14, Bubba tried to convert that one to .30-06 using a brand new Johnson Automatics (JA) barrel. That barrel was not clocked into the index mark and the action also had a beat-up Winchester M1917 bolt in the attempted conversion. When I took off the JA .30-06 barrel the gauges indicated 0 on the throat erosion guage and 0 on the muzzle wear guage.

Does anybody have any idea when these two P14 were made?

Cheers
