    Winchester stocks

    Hi All,
In Winchester stocks, how would I know which stock to look for, long or short channel, for a Winchester receiver I just acquired?
I thank all you experts out there.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. It would be import to know the serial number or at least the first few numbers.

Canfield's book "the M1icon Garand Rifle" states that Winchester used the long channel stock until approximately serial number 2,350,000

You could use either short or long channel as you are in the overlap period
