    ROF Fazakerley No.4

I have a possible line on a late-40's model. I have virtually no experience with Lee-Enfield's, but the rifle looks in pretty good condition. What's the opinion on these and what's the going rate for one?

You are asking the proverbial 'my car won't start question........' A few photos will start the car......... or at least start the ball rolling regarding your rifle questions

I'm told the rifle gauges well within MoD specification, and the barrel's nice and headspace good. All serial numbers match except the magazine but it's fitted and functions correctly. It's seen workshops in South Africa at some point during it's career and has been well maintained.

Being new to these old rifles I want to take a concensus so I know I'm good.
Still, the seller is from a business I've heard recommended on several C&R sites so I don't want to mention the name as if all looks good I'm serious about snatching it up.

Looks a fairly tidy unit depending on price I would snaffle it before it gets sold as always try to get a little knocked off the asking price , Brians a square dealer and has good stuff and does the rightie by people if he says its good then it is probably in better condition than he is stating.

As for the mag not matching, they weren't supposed to "Match". They were only numbered together after the fact. I'd rather not have a number at all on it. Same for bayonets. Yes the mag was fitted and this is likely the reason, after some issues with interchangeability saw them numbered in SOME cases. Rifle looks great. Take it...
    Regards, Jim
