Don't worry Gil, we still have a dedicated para wing.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Both new jet based airframes carry a lot of fully kitted lads, and can throw them out in short shrift.
UKicon Trials finished two years ago and with the current chute, things could look quite daunting for any opposition with the volume of delivery in such a short time.

82nd/101st and 800 of the 3 PARA Battle Group proved that they are jointly a formidable force in a mass jump.
Not sure what Trump will do with it all, but he says he will strengthen ALL things military so the combined force and the new aircraft together look secure for the uncertain future ahead

Does anyone know if there's been much in the way of trials/experience of dropping kit and fully kitted up paratroops from the A400m yet, please?

Still at an early stage F10, it's not due to be fully cleared for the full spectrum of operations until 2020 I believe.

The A400 has had a very troubled development programme, but it's slowly coming right and it will be a superb asset when it's fully cleared.

I wonder about how robust the A400m will prove to be once it starts getting some hard heavy use but time will tell.

"Theoretically" the A400 should prove to be reliable and robust, after all Airbus has a long history of manufacturing airliners, these have to be both as reliable and robust as a bus or they simply won't sell.

Always send it back to the "rental" company if not happy
Trials have finished including heavy drop, performed really well as a comparison to the Herc.
It is the way forward, definitely a better option than helicopters

No doubt about it Gil, when its finally cleared for all its duties, it will be a real force multiplier for the UKicon.

Doesn't Germanyicon and Spain now want all the A400m's that they have ordered/purchased?
