    New Years Day Present?

    1:25 AM Jan 1, 2017

This mottly trio came in the door.
All passed along from a friend of my daughters.

What the hell............ Sure hope this isn't a sign of how the year will be!
Not sure what I have here.

Light US stamp on the back one. Missing screws etc. Pictures at another time.
Jap (early?) 99? Took pictures today, will post in Jap Rifle section later, if Jap? I believe so...

Iver top break, haven't look closely, not sure of cal, maybe .25? or 32..

    We can't all be lucky!!

You'd be amazed at the difference simply wiping just a little linseed oilicon over the stock of the musket would make to it's appearance.

I pick it up and the trigger guard falls off
I just had to laugh after posting in the carbine forum @ mid nite, "May your dream finds come this new year". 1-1/2hr later these get dragged thru the door, banging the walls and doors

I'll be honest, I spent the last day and a half trying to figure out the Jap rifle. Never paid any attention to them. No idea they are so complicated as far as ID'ing them.... New world to me for sure. I believe it's a Early model 99. Did get pictures of it today, that I'll post later.
This old lap top doesn't have the uuummmpp to load my pictures.

Then I wasn't sure where to post this. Figured they'd make for a entertaining discussion, thus posted here.

One interesting thing I did find out today, The young couple who passed these along to me via my daughter, said The initials on the (99?) WEG are the initials of the his grand father. I want his ok before listing the full name.

Anyways..... laugh. ooohhh or awww, just try to enjoy them and especially the timing.

    To Better collecting ahead

    BAR,
I'll need a keg of screws first off.
These weren't the projects I had in mind for this winter, but I just have 2 carbines to finish up stock repairs and finish and the bench will be clear.
Just hoping my bench is long enough now
