C&R License - Is over 2 weeks Normal Just to Get Application Booklet?

I sent off for my C&R application booklet via the internet at the ATF site. That was over two weeks ago and I still don't have it. So has anyone requested this lately, and how long did it take to get your application forms mailed to you?

    Regards,
    Pat

I was just reading a thread on THR.us in which the OP wanted to know if two MONTHS was too long to wait for the application.

You can call them and ask.

    C&R not worth the hassle

    That's my opinion.

And as a C&R holder for nearly 30 years.....Your "opinion" is factually incorrect!

No, 2 weeks isn't "too long".....it's Da Gub'min"! Just like your tax refund....."Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery"! BTW, if the ATF stays true-to-form, your packet, when it arrives, will be the wrong one. It isn't exactly a filibuster, just bureaucratic "friction"!

FWIW, the ATF generally works better with personal contact (I swear, those bureaucrats must think digital watches are "high-tech"!). Calling the Document Center in Dallas usually gets things done right and done FAST....their number will be in the wrong FFL packet they are likely to send you and you can run from there.

I also feel that having a C&R is the best thing since bread started being sliced.

If you plan to buy just one Garandicon, Carbine, 03, ...... don't leave home without it.

However, if one does not have the time to write down a Gun title, description, serial number, date, and a name, city, driver's license number, then one should not get one. Just go ahead and pay the fee to an FFL.

    Talked to the ATF Today

I did contact my local ATF field agent today, and he was very professional. He said he thought that sounded too long, but they were drowning in FFL 01 applications, so maybe it was affecting the distribution center. He gave me the direct line to forms distribution center in WV. I will call them Monday if it hasn't gotten here tomorrow. How the heck am I ever expected to catch up with some of the living legends of this board if I don't get my C&R ???

    Waiting...

since November or December. Now I'm having trouble finding the link to order the application again. FFL app. is easy to order...a C&R app. so far is a pain to order.

Who has the link out there?

    Thanks,

    Bruce

I used to have a Master Sergeant working for me that protested when someone would solicit his opinion - then want to argue with him about it.

I'd say that an opinion is merely that - an opinion. It may be based on factual errors, but it IS an opinion.

BTW, I think my C&R is the best $30 I've spent on this hobby lately.

FWIW; AFAIK; IMHO; YMMV; yadda, yadda, yadda.

Which is then governed by a chunk of wisdom I wish had a different author (Sen. Danial Patrick Moynihan), "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion...not their own facts!"

A valid opinion MUST have some factual basis....if it doesn't, then the "opinion" really isn't one!
