carbine Criterion barrels sold by Tradeex Canada are very good quality, and appear to be MIL-SPEC, except they are longer by 0.75". However, they are not parkerized, have no gas piston or nut, and, as mentioned, have to be reamed to correct headspace. Your carbine would need to be de-registered also to get it out of the RCMP Restricted classification. These longer barrels should be professionally installed, if more info required, please send a PM to me here or on GCN.

I found a criterion barrel and ordered that.
Having never done it, what is the de-registration process?

You'll have to have the gun set up and finished. Then you need to have a verifyer examine it and do the paperwork on it, send it in to the RCMP. I had to surrender the barrels of anything I was taking off the restricted list or prohibited list...your mileage may vary and you may choose to argue about it. You likely won't receive any paperwork to show you're de-registered, I didn't. Ask around and you'll find a verifier. Your local gun club or gun shop may know one. I know about five around here...
