    O/T Computer question

I just changed over from a cable modem to DSL. Now every e-mail I get with a picture in the text, the picture will not show up. What do I need to do to be able to see the pictures again? (If I get a picture in an attachment it works fine)

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. DISREGARD - I was referring to Internet Explorer and missed this was for E-Mail before hitting post - can't delete.

Generally, when that happens, it's related to a security setting that does not allow certain attachments without the user taking an action. If you right click the pciture, do you get a text box with a prompt to download pictures? If so, it's proably a security setting. Did your DSL package come with it's own antivirus and adware software? If so, those could be the culprits.

If you're using IE, you can go into Tools, click Internet Options, then click the Security Tab. I believe if your setting are higher than Medium (i.e. Medium-High), then the pictures will not appear as they are treated like a download.

Don't blame me - I voted for Palin.

Nub didn't say which email program he is using? Outlook?

I personally use Thunderbird and it is superb, same bunch as Firefox. Easy to go through the setups, can import all other settings and emails. Once there can pretty much tailor make the way one wants his mail to look, what to include when it comes in, and how to send it out.

I pretty much try to stay away from most Microsoft browsers and email programs. Most bugs are written for Explorer and Outlook.

Well since he said he has just switched from cable to DSL, I am betting its a ISP issue with a default setting they put on the account or the setup software.
Often you will see them do this as a security measure (even though all it really does is frustrate the **** out of you some times)

Call your ISP's help line and give em an ask and they can tell you.
