Over the years I believe I've read about 2 that reportedly had OI marked slingwells with the circled K.
Why hasn't any of the other known M2 stocks that were marked HI, M, SA, etc been found with the circled K ?
And never a converted to M2 stock reported from any other stock supplier?
I believe the reported OI markings to be false.
Even though SE Overton was known to make stocks in to the early 70's for commercial companies like Plainfield. I also believe SE Overton, like Marlin made stocks for kids toy guns well after WWII.

The pictured CC is so poor it could be the Mona Lisa for all I know. It's just too distorted from being sanded over to properly ID.

The OI stamp pictured isn't consistent to original markings.

We'll have to keep digging........ maybe some day

After a closer look at the picture above magnified,
It appears to be a number 1 that crosses the circled K. The number 1 looks to have been stamped over the circled K.
This is the highest point I've seen a circled K stamped.

    FWIW

I'm off to Virginia this evening.
Gun shops near Alexandria worth finding ?

Earlier this week I saw an old posting by Rick Bicon stating that Kapur is Chu. It was a search in the Garandicon or Ask Each Other forum of his name, wherein it was found.

The characteristics of that stamp look like Saginaw S'G'. Check the diameter of the circle. If it is 3 /8 inch, then that is what it is.

Jim, check the picture at the beginning of this thread - the CC is larger than the oiler slot. Someone needs to PM Gunsdora? - Bob

What is the diameter? That can give us a good idea of whose mark it is.

The owner listed the size of the CC in a post at the top of page 3. Evidently the decimal point is in the wrong place, but the size and location indicate Inland. - Bob

As to the size of cannons I will point out that different books did things differently. Further the published catouches in books are prone to error. Some I think intentionally, and thank you for that!

Gunsdora sent me several pictures, but as I am sure most know that trying to get a picture of a sanded CC can be an exercise in futility.
From what I see there are several things that make me believe this is not an Inland CC. One item makes me think a fake.

I would think many here can figure it out by one of my drawing marks

With only one other mentioned having CC it would be great is people keep reporting any circle K stock. If we see more CCs it would be interesting what the slingwell marks look like.
