1917 Collection

Hello All- Over the years I have put together a trio of 1917 rifles. One each of Eddystone, Remington, and Winchester examples. The Winchester is original blue, the others are WWII rebuilds. Mostly matching parts with correct wood in excellent condition. All three barrels look and measure new. Due to hard economic realities, I plan to offer these rifles for sale at the Lexington NC show this weekend. Any suggestions regarding ask/selling price for each or all would be appreciated. I want to sell, but I need to get market correct prices. Thanks, and Regards, Clark

Hello, Clark. Without photos it would be tough to give a "guesstimate" as to value. Having said that, I certainly would not go lower than $600 or $700 each. There are also regional prices (I live in "Pugetropolis"). Unless you are in a hurry for the money I would list them on GunBroker.com Online Gun Auction with a starting price with the lowest price you would accept. If I remember correctly you don't pay until you sell. Also, depending on state law you don't need an FFL to sell/send, you just need one on the receiving end. You can also "mail" long guns via the Postal Service. The key to getting noticed is lots of sharp, clear photos and a well thought out description. Cruise the auctions for ideas on descriptions. I even sold a rifle on lay-away which was great because I kept the rifle until the buyer paid. Good luck with whatever you do. Mike

I agree, its hard to give a guesstimate without pictures but if they are in good condition an approximate ballpark would be 450-500 Eddystone, 600 Remington and 700 Winchester. Actual value may be much higher or much lower depending on the condition.
