Short term rust prevention?
I'm curious to know what you guys use as far as short term rust prevention. I've got plenty of stuff I can use but I'd like to hear what y'all think works best.

Well I was put onto an American product called EEZOX and have found it the best to date. I live down South in Australia so have to contend with extremes of hot and cold, properly applied this stuff is just the Bee's Knee's.
I do my firearms once a year using this stuff and then they don't need it is just gives me more fondling time.

I've never seen that stuff before, I went to their site and it seems to be just what I was looking for. Thank you.

I've been using Remoil on some pretty rusty things and it's worked very well.

I use maintenance sprays when I am cleaning up deacts in my collection and other items of kit but I always go for silicone free types which not all versions are. I use 2 types, one of which doesn't leave much of a residue and the other one leaves a thin layer of wax; both types have their uses. Always be careful about using any product that contains silicone because it can cause no end of problems with any further refinishing that you may wish to do. Even having the contamination in your workshop could cause problems if you were doing other refinishing work on perhaps car bodywork.

I just use a regular light rifle oil.
