EARLY STOCK CARTOUCHE QUESTION

I saw an early 1 bolt high wood stock with a "GRG" in rectangle cartouche. I have never seen that cartouche before. Does anyone know anything about it? Thanks in advance.

Yep, an early inspector, G.R. Goring (no relation, as far as I know, to our friend Hermann! ) Interestingly, I saw another on a Mark I stock - no idea how that happened because Goring did not inspect Mark Is.
