Am I correct in thinking that even mags will be butchered before sale now. Now maybe the time to stock up if that's true. May need to buy another box of 50 if that's the case.

As I read Big Duke's thread earlier somewhere, the mags have to be chopped somewhat if they're sold with the new deact style gun. But NOT if you buy actual magazines which by definition are not subject to any laws - yet! But I'd get few dozen because, like the muddy water in the song, you ain't going to notice it till it's time to drink it!
I understand that there are still a few old spec LMG's out there but sadly, the prices reflect the diminishing quantity..........

If deactivated or blocked to 5 rds, they'd sure be worth more than that in Canada...probably $100 CDN...new.

I did ask one dealer on Sunday if when he sold one of the new spec U.K./E.U. deacs that will only accept a butchered mag if he actually had to, by law, sell a butchered mag with it. Apparently a butchered mag doesn't have to sold with the new spec deac but, obviously, an unmodified mag will not fit.

Is not too bad if thought about correctly!.........
They want all magazines restricted to 20 rounds.....Well. In a Bren mag for example, you cut/ make up a metal block to fit inside the mag. ensuring that you have compressed the follower & spring. Sufficiently to sit on top of the block. AND the block was of sufficient length to accept/ limit 20 rounds as they potentially require.
Then, drill through the mag from spine to front & countersink the holes. Fit a steel pin long enough to sit approx. 0.05mm below the top of either hole. MIG weld each end of the pin, to the mag holes. Dress to profile & paint/ re-blue. Job done!........it's pretty much academic on a Deact how many rounds a mag holds TBH. As it's never going to fire again!.....
You DONT have to cut a slot in the feed lips to damage the mag. Unless you actually want another mag to fit your EU spec Deact!
It WILL then comply with the stupid impending 'Regulation' & is therefore legal to sell on also. If desired?...
But it will do nothing to prevent I.E.Ds, & mass Target attacks. It will not affect crossbow's. It will not affect car bombs. It will not prevent bomb attacks by Drones. It will not........
You get the picture, I'm SURE?...........
Or as we saw yesterday mate, another deluded murdering pea brain using a car as a weapon!

Agreed, if someone is set on conducting an act such as this, no amount of legislation can prevent it. On a complete tangent, did anyone see the 10+ men in balaclavas and larger weapons running to the palace of Westminster and then ushering out the MPs in attendance? I wonder who those nice chaps were.

I did ask one well known dealer on Sunday if he knew what was happening, if anything, concerning the sale of mags and like me he didn't know if restrictions were actually going to be imposed.
