The person I know at the firearms lab did it themselves, but again this case is definitely the exemption rather than the rule

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. That article was pretty funny right off the start, it stated..."Can be transformed into weapons with a simple switch of the gun's barrel and bolt"... Now to the sausage chewin' voter, that might seem simple. Just pop the barrel and change the bolt...right? SIMPLE! That's what the RCMP say...? Those of us that have examined an AK know a bit better than that. But to the populace that knows nothing it creates a panic about nothing. Most shooters have NO idea how to get an AK barrel out.

Anyhow, there's another example of what isn't available here any more. The rest aren't anywhere near convertible. You'd end up making a high priced rifle and then installing a high priced set of secondary parts in it. That would make it unaffordable to the end users. The whole idea of the first guy's vids are to create viewers that watch him repeatedly and get him views. It sounds good though...
    Regards, Jim

Quite a gaff allowing a replica utilising original receivers, if that's the case...

Still not easily convertible though, you would still require barrel/gas block and bolt and carrier assemblies, not generally found at the local hardware store!

I would call it a 'depressing' Scottish newspaper article. Interesting..., it ain't
